TOKUYA is not new to many Mont Kiara people, right? Used to be inside 1MK shopping mall, TOKUYA Malaysia is now shifted to a brand new upcoming location - Arcoris Plaza Mont’ Kiara.
I took a chance to visit it during it’s soft launch weeks ago. There were ample of car parks available at the basement of Arcoris Plaza Mont’ Kiara with just RM 2 per entry. Took the lift up and you will find TOKUYA Malaysia at level LG1.
If you are new to TOKUYA Malaysia, let me share some details of them with you now. TOKUYA Malaysia’s tagline is ‘Purposeful Unique’. Guardian Malaysia to Knock Down Prices Every Week for The Whole Year

Good news everyone, our favourite leading pharmacy, health and beauty retail chain in the country, Guardian Malaysia will reduce the price of selected items every Friday to Sunday, for the rest of the year, in a bold initiative to help consumers mitigate rising costs of living.
Called the “Knockdown Prices Campaign”, it would feature four to five full range of products, with reductions stretching from 10 to 70 per cent.
CEO of Guardian Health and Beauty Sdn Bhd (Guardian Malaysia), Mr. Soren Lauridsen, said: “This Knockdown Price Campaign is very important to us as it would enable the Company to contribute, directly, and in a significant way, to help Malaysians lighten the rising costs of living.”

“Customers throughout the country, no matter where they are, and including those who prefer to make purchases online, can enjoy these great low prices, every Friday to Sunday,” he added.

Speaking at the launch of the campaign at Guardian Sunway on 8th February 2018, Soren said: “Guardian has been a leading brand in Malaysia for over 50 years, and we have a reputation of offering a wide range of exclusive and high quality products at very affordable prices. In fact, prices at Guardian are also one of the lowest in the market. But this fact has not been highlighted sufficiently in the past because of the different focus in earlier marketing campaigns.”


“Given the noises we have been hearing about the rising costs of living and expensive consumables, we decided to make the bold decision of committing ourselves to knock-down prices, every Friday to Sunday, for the rest of the year.”
An estimated 260 items, ranging from personal care, health and beauty products, such as shampoo, body wash, facial cleansers, face masks and many more will be offered at lower prices during the year.

“We believe this campaign is timely and appropriate, given the current business environment. And we are confident consumers will be thrilled,” he added.

The knockdown prices are in addition to its on-going weekend super savers and exclusive promotions such as Hello Kitty Limited Edition Collections that will run until 18 April.
Soren highlighted that Guardian also just rolled out another fantastic initiative called BEAUTY DAYS promotion, where beauty products are offered at discounts of up to 40%.

“We have designated Thursday to Sunday, as Beauty Days, please look out for these days, for the best beauty deals in the market! I think all of you would be “WOW”-ed by the range of products and the prices!”

He said: “These are not all. I can assure you that more have been planned.”

He added that these campaigns enable Guardian to re-focus on the brand’s DNA, which is, to always offer customers the best in terms of price, quality and service. They are also in line with the Company’s strategy to WOW their customers, each time they walk into the stores!

Productivity Nexus for Retail and F&B Launches Three Flagship Programmes Targeting 7.2% Growth in Labour Productivity

The Productivity Nexus has once again proven its keen initiative of increasing human capital productivity by implementing Productivity Nexus for the Retail and Food & Beverage (F&B) industry. During the official launch of the Flagship Programmes held at Sunway Putra Hotel, KL on 8th Feb 18, invited media was given the first-hand information about this flagship programmes.
Targets a 7.2% growth in labour productivity in the industry to meet the 2020 National level productivity target of RM 92,300 per worker. Through this, the platform, driven by the private sector and supported by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tn Razak, aims to empower industry associations to become key change agents in the nation. This is because the collective power of industry associations offer a strong bridge to connect with enterprises and knowledge experts in each sector. The event was officiated by Minister of Human Resources YB Dato’ Sri (Dr) Richard Riot Anak Jaem.
At the moment, the Retail and F&B sector employs no less than 2.7 million people which marks a value-added of RM 89 billion – recording an 8.3% contribution to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, the productivity in this sector remains as one of the lowest. This spurred the implementation of the Productivity Nexus which rides on the premise of sharing the economy’s best practices and being inspired by industry experts to further inspire the rest of the industry. The initiative is slated to involve 80 to 100 selected flagship companies.
There is no denying that digitalisation is the way of the future. Recognising this factor, the Retail and F&B Productivity Nexus Champion Dato’ Bruce Lim reiterated,”The Productivity initiatives for Retail and F&B have included support for digitalisation of business operation and honing e-commerce capabilities.”
“By strengthening the Retail and F&B player’s competencies as well as providing necessary assistance throughout this transformative journey, this sector will have the opportunity, backed up by the right skills, to expand internationally,” added Dato’ Bruce.
The flagship programs are break into three areas: Retail Digitalisation Program, O2O Growth Venture Program, and Top Transformers. Led by the Malaysian E-Commerce Chairman Ganesh Kumar Bangah, the first flagship program centres on guiding and equipping selected brick and mortar retail business owners to understand, adapt and master the online revolution. This programme aims to attain sustainable growth as well as increase sales by taking their businesses online.
The O2O Growth Venture Program, helmed by Fave founder Joel Neoh, emphasises on venturing into new online sales channel and business model to increase sales of businesses. It also educates on the adoption of digital tools and consumer insights.
Meanwhile, the Top Transformers program is designed for leaders in Retailing and F&B who are tasted to manage people and deliver results regardless of ranking to produce a well-tuned working environment. The program, championed by PKT Logistics Group Sdb Bhd Group Chief Executive & Managing Director Dato’ Michael Tio, has kicked off in Januarty and will commence until March.

Speaking at the event, YB Dato’ Sri (Dr) Richard Riot expressed, “The time has come for our labour capital productivity to be further enhanced by embracing of the digital economy ecosystem. These flagship programmes are all game-changers for the Retail and F&B industry as well as the people of Malaysia. I am truly pleased to see our nation on its way towards fully grasping the possibilities the economy of the future holds for us.”

Productivity Nexus for Retail and F&B industry is proudly supported by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC); Economic Planning Unit (EPU); Prime Minister’s Department; Ministry of Domestic Trade; Co-operatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK); Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE); and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). This initiative is also slated to receive the support of Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF).

Being a privately driven initiative, it is also in collaboration with Bumiputera Retailers Organization (BRO); Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA); Malaysian Retail Chain Association (MRCA); and Malaysia Retailers Association (MRA).

Concurrently, K-Pintar has been appointed as the Project Manager and they will be tasked to measure the productivity levels of the participating companies while simultaneously overseeing the entire project.

Watsons ELITE members, celebrities and members of the media and blogger community were treated to a special preview screening on 9 Feb 2018, one week ahead of the release date of the latest movie “Think Big Big”, produced by Astro Shaw and directed by Chiu Keng Guan of “The Journey” and “Olabola” fame. IOI City Mall welcomes this Chinese New Year with the Splendours of Spring ushering in theLunar New Year of the Earth Dog. Inspired by the multicolours of Spring and the many facets of life these colours represent, IOI City Mall brought to life a giant kaleidoscope in a shape of a tunnel for all to walk through to experience first-hand its breath-taking prism of colours reflective of the joys and celebration of the Lunar New Year.
This prism like installation uses sheets of mirrors to create the effect of being inside a giant kaleidoscope. Together with their Kaleidoscope Tunnel is the Tree of Life in celebration of life on this beautiful land of abundance. This Tree of Life rotates 360° on its axis to celebrate Growth and Prosperity.
As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, IOI City Mall recently hosted an outing for 33 seniors age ranged from 50 to 80 years old together with their 9 guardians from Rumah Amal Murni Kajang and Little Sister of The Poor.
Brought in by Asian Overland Services Convention and Exhibition(AOSCE) in their tour bus. The group was treated with a movie “Bleeding Steel” starring Jackie Chan at Golden Screen Cinema.
The seniors comprise of both able and physically challenged were given personalised attention throughout their visit by their guardians and the mall’s team. Treated as VIP’s they enjoyed live performance of Acrobatic Lion Dance by Kwong Ngai Lion Dance Group from Kuala Lumpur at Lower Ground Floor Centre Court.
After the nearly half and hour performance they were presented Ang Paos individually by the mall’s General Manager, Mr. Chris Chong followed by bags of gifts by HomePro and Tesco, presented by their General Manager Madam Shirley Tham and Store Manager Madam Nita respectively.

The guest were then escorted for a Chinese New Year 6 course reunion dinner at Le Mei Chinese Restaurant hosted by Le Meridian Hotel. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious meal which started with the auspicious Salmon Yee Sang.
The Managing Director of AOSCE & AOSTT Mr. Andrew Wong and Ms Yap Sook Ling were in attendance.

A Beauty Day Out @ IOI City Mall

I like everything beauty, hence when IOI City Mall invited me to their beauty day out last month, I did not hesitate to RSVP myself to explore the beauty tenants there.
Our first stop was the World’s first Clarins retail kiosk that occupying a floor space of 600 square feet. It was fun to explore the open concept kiosk of this French luxury brand. 
It is equipped with a Open Spa, a makeover area, a relaxing lounge, a travel zone, a maternity zone, a gift area, a sample wall, and a recycle zone. 
My favourite zone was the Open Spa that offers a 30 minutes quick relaxing pampering while we are on the go.
